I learned a lot of information from researching the North Island Kiwi bird. I didn't know anything about the kiwi bird, but after researching, I found information on their habitat, adaptations, life cycle, and more. I would have never known the kiwi bird is referred to as the 'honorary mammal' or that it has the largest egg to body size ratio. It was challenging to find information on the kiwi bird at times. Kiwis only live in New Zealand, and are endangered so it isn't that easy to research them. It was challenging to find symbiotic relationships as they're fairly isolated. It was also near impossible to find how many chromosomes a kiwi bird has, there were many websites claiming different numbers and there wasn't information on kiwi's chromosomes on reliable sources. While I did enjoy finding out more on the kiwi bird, it was also stressful keeping up with the project. Overall I enjoyed knowing more about the kiwi bird's behavior, food sources, predators, etc. I just need to work on getting things done before the last minute so that I would've enjoyed it more. Any time I'm learning about animals I don't know much about I tend to enjoy it. Now I can give random facts about kiwi birds to others and that's a reason for me to enjoy this project. There was not a specific section that I found most challenging in the project. There were a few parts in some sections that I struggled to find information for, but I was able to find the information for other parts of those sections fairly easily. It seems we just aren't knowledgeable on certain things when it comes to Kiwis, or the information just isn't widespread or well known. If I had to pick a section, organism interaction was a little hard. I managed to find information on it, but I did not enjoy not being able to find other symbiotic relationships for the kiwi bird. I enjoyed learning and writing about organism identification the most. Technically organism identification was mostly drawing, and that is the reason I enjoyed it the most. I love learning about where animals are from, and what they look like. Even though this section didn't require much searching for information, I enjoyed it. I liked drawing what the kiwi bird looks like and drawing all the details such as the feathers and beak.
